Description

Zaagi'idiwin is one of the sacred and guiding teachings of the Anishinaabe people. Loosely translated it means to love unconditionally and reciprocally with all of creation.

Claire Shannon-Akiwenzie (Anishinaabe/Irish) is an artist working mostly in the mediums of beading and digital art. She is a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation in Neyaashiinigmiing, Ontario and currently resides on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil Waututh Nations in so-called Vancouver.

With 6+ years as a professional teacher and facilitator, Claire also offers workshops that guide participants in learning and engaging in Indigenous art forms.
